It is essential to send the documentation requested to Occident and any other report or supplementary proof you wish to add.
If your claim is approved, you will receive the relevant compensation within the following 5 days.
- A serious accident is any bodily injury that occurs due to a violent, unexpected, external cause that is completely involuntary and prevents the person from travelling normally to his/her usual place of residence.
- Serious illness means a health problem diagnosed and confirmed by a doctor who gives instructions for the patient to stay in bed or be admitted to hospital and which also prevents the person engaging in any professional or private activity.
In this case, Occident covers:
- The cost of transporting the ambulance to the nearest hospital or emergency centre.
- The prior check by the medical team who will be in contact with the doctor attending the insured party.
- The costs of transfer to hospital or home. If the case is very serious, a special medical plane will be used if the injured or sick person is in Europe or Mediterranean countries, and a regular aeroplane or another faster means of transport when the person is in the rest of the world.
